THE TOUR
The 7th annual Back Door Kitchen Tour
will be presented by the Residents of Old Wilmington (ROW) on Saturday, October
20th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Nine (9) kitchens in Wilmington’s famed Historic District will be
featured. The self-guided walking
tour offers the
opportunity to visit each
home – in any order – at your own pace.
Hannah Block USO - The
Hannah Block Historic USO Community Arts Center (120 South 2nd
Street) will be at the heart of it all on the day of the tour. Pick up your will
call tickets or purchase your tickets.
Don't miss the special and informative displays from tour sponsors. Restroom
facilities and bottled water will also be available here.
Box Lunches
- We’re offering a limited number of boxed lunches from the Wayfarer Deli
available for purchase on a first come, first served basis at the USO. We will be presenting a unique slide show highlighting 40 years of ROW and
the historic preservation of our unique downtown while you enjoy your lunch.
The event
will be held rain or shine.
Walking shoes are encouraged for both comfort and
safety.
PURCHASING YOUR TICKETS Tour tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available now through PayPal If you use PayPal to purchase your tour tickets in advance, your tour tickets will be wating for you at our Will Call table inside the Hannah Block USO/ Community Arts Center beginning at 9:45 AM on Saturday, October 20th. grocery stores (cash, check or credit card).

can be purchased at each of the tour homes (cash or check) or the Community Arts Center
(cash or check) in addition to area
merchants
THE PROCEEDS The funds
raised by ROW from the tour are utilized for downtown enhancement
projects. Previous works
include the 5th Avenue Reforestation Project, the purchase, installation and
maintenance of the sculpture “Southern Hospitality” at Market and Water Streets,
and the Ann Street Pedestrian & Bike Crossing. ROW
also provides support to local organizations who work to make Wilmington
a better place to live, visit and work. Recently we’ve provided new display
cases for Thalian Hall, funds for restoration of the Bellamy Mansion Children’s
Room, paid for mirrors and dance barres for DREAMS Dance Studio students, and a projector and screens
for the Hannah Block Community Center.
